My Fav Spring Smoothie

Even though the weather doesn't feel like spring, this smoothie will put you a little spring in your step. It's not only amazingly tasty but it's beautiful and FULL of antioxidants. Full disclosure this is not an original recipe. It's from the Medical Medium. I keep the mango layer but sometimes mess with the berry layer. I have tried raspberries, strawberries, and dragonfruit and my favorite was the dragonfruit.

As far as the benefits go, this is straight from the Medical Medium website:

Peaches are rich in beta-carotene, vitamin C, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and bioflavonoids. They have powerful anti-inflammatory properties and are especially beneficial for sinus issues, arthritis, high blood pressure, IBS, constipation, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne, nervous system issues, migraines, eye sight issues, and strengthening the immune system. They are also very supportive for the body during pregnancy and a wonderful healing food for children as well. Raspberries are a great full-body detoxifying food, rich in antioxidants that specifically remove EBV’s byproduct and other viral debris from the bloodstream, allowing for easier overall cleansing. Raspberries also tend to bind onto and remove impurities delivered to the intestinal tract by a liver burdened by viral waste matter. Mangoes contain a tremendous amount of carotene to restore the spleen and liver, feed the brain, and purge the lymphatic system of viral waste-matter toxins. Mangoes also provide bioactive magnesium and glucose that calm nerves to aid in sleep issues caused by viral issues. 1 cup of frozen peaches or 1 whole peach

1/2 fresh mango cut into cubes

Juice from 1 orange

1 1/2 cup raspberries, dragonfruit, or strawberries fresh or frozen

1 frozen banana

1 cup coconut water or water

Directions: Make the orange layer by combining peach, mango and orange juice in a blender and blend until very smooth. One of these fruits can be frozen but not both. It gets too slushy if they are both frozen. Set aside and rinse the blender. Make the pink layer by combining raspberries

(or whatever fruit you choose), banana and coconut water in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the orange layer into glasses, then top with the pink layer. Serve immediately.
