What is tapping? It's a healing modality called EFT or emotional freedom technique. The website, www.thetappingsolution.com describes it like this:

All negative emotions are felt through a disruption of the body’s energy. And physical pain and disease are intricately connected to negative emotions. Health problems create feedback – physical symptoms cause emotional distress, and unresolved emotional problems manifest themselves through physical symptoms. So, the body’s health must be approached as a whole. You cannot treat the symptoms without addressing the cause, and vice-versa.The body, like everything in the universe, is composed of energy. Restore balance to the body’s energy, and you will mend the negative emotions and physical symptoms that stem from the energy disruption. Tapping restores the body’s energy balance, and negative emotions are conquered. The basic technique requires you to focus on the negative emotion at hand: a fear or anxiety, a bad memory, an unresolved problem, or anything that’s bothering you. While maintaining your mental focus on this issue, use your fingertips to tap 5-7 times each on 12 of the body’s meridian points. Tapping on these meridian points – while concentrating on accepting and resolving the negative emotion – will access your body’s energy, restoring it to a balanced state.
Every time I tap I wonder why I don't do it more often? It is such a good modality for release. Release of pent up emotions and pain. I start out the session calm and by the middle I am usually sobbing. Then by the end I am calm again and feeling much more relaxed. It's a good ebb and flow. The key to tapping is acceptance of whatever you are tapping for. We tend to judge our own emotions so harshly that acceptance of them rarely happens. When you can finally accept that they are a part of you, and not only accept them BUT embrace them, then they can be released.
I have a hard time doing it without any guidance so I follow Brad Yates on youtube. He's very helpful and has many topics to tap about. It's nice to be coached because if you are following his actions and words you can focus more on release and less on technique. I encourage you to check him out:
