Saturday was a lazy food day. It can be done people!! I awoke to a surprise that the kids picked up Holey Moley Donuts for me. This donut shop, in the 3rd Ward, makes a vegan/gluten free donut called the baby spice. Many times they run out of it because it just tastes amazing! They also have a variety of vegan donuts. We got a few of them, as well. A pistachio, chocolate glaze, and chocolate mint. Who says you can't live plant based and eat delicious donuts??!! For dinner, we finished off the day with a Daiya frozen pizza. Gluten and dairy free, and you wouldn't know the difference. Two versions: one "pepperoni" for the kids and roasted vegetable for Don and I. Maddy said she preferred the vegetable one cause it tasted like it had pesto on it. The picture looks like the pizza is smiling. I purposely did that cause we all were smiling after dinner. We finished with dessert, NadaMoo, new flavors: Strawberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Fudge..shut the front door!!! Our inspiration for this day was the 20% off frozen foods at Fresh Thyme Market in Greenfield. This is not a normal day of eating for us. Anyone can live a plant based diet and eat processed, low nutritional foods, and it doesn't make them any healthier. But, every once in a while you just have to go for it. Take a day off of menu planning and cooking. Let them eat pizza and donuts and ice cream!
